Lift-off

The past days have been interesting; I've made my first attempts at animedrawings in roughly 10 years. I hardly draw as much as I used to but maybe this whole topsecret thing will change that... well it already has.

Below are some of my first finished drawings. Yup it might sound weird but I never really finished drawings much. A teacher once told me drawings can look intirely different when colored but I suppose I never bothered much since I usually screwed up my whole drawing using paint on it. Long live Wacom!

The drawings below are attempts to produce decent drawings without making them totally anime like pokemon and those other junkseries.
Personally anything with shiny bowlingballs as eyesockets in an out of proportion face make me puke. Therefore I'm trying desperately to avoid that pitfall.
Next to that they are my first conceptwork ever, sure I've worked out my own stuff before, but these are all visualisations for ideas for other people.
the task was to come up with a hook, my task was to visualise their idea.

first attempt at drawing an armored bear... drawing atonomy properly seems a bare necessity to get a decent drawing out. It's not looking very anime and that front paw is a disaster...

thisone is probably furthest of the anime style needed, but regardless of that, it narrates the story Palleon wanted me to tell excellent.
Composition is far from great... it will give fun gameplay though.

I like thisone most, giving beast a character always intregued me. I'm hoping the directors will take the game in this direction. It will prove a big challenge to animate and in the end will get a competitive game out there. Silkroad without grinding !!

hmm, what can I say... it was a pain to draw, it will be a pain to create, it will be boring to animate and the gameplay it will give will be boring. But... I did my duty and attempted to use that typical futuristic manga approach without overdoing it. Not my favorite style.

had to do thisone in a rush, the guy had a full concept, with tunnels etc... I worked out the actionpart from his idea. It shows his idea is nice on paper but will present us a very agrovating gameplay. Also getting that tunnelidea programmed... I don't know if it is worth all the fuzz.
